CALL FOR SPECIAL ELECTION CITY OF CLEVELAND, GEORGIA
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. §21-2-540, a special election shall be held in Cleveland, Georgia for the purpose of submitting to the voters the opportunity to vote to fill the vacant seat for the position of Council Member Ward 2 of the City of Cleveland.
The special election will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the White County Registrar’s Office 1241 Helen Hwy, Ste. 210-A, Cleveland GA 30528.
Advanced voting will be held at Cleveland City Hall, 85 S. Main St. Cleveland GA 30528 April 27, 2020 through May 15, 2020 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m..
Polls will open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on election day (May 19, 2020).
QUALIFYING FEE NOTICE
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §21-2-131 (a)(1), the following qualifying fees were set by the City of Cleveland Mayor and City Council at the Regular City Council meeting held on January 6, 2020:
Council Member Ward 2 - $117.00
Qualifying for the office listed above will begin 8:30 a.m., on Monday, March 30, 2020 at 8:30 to 1:00 and 2:00 to 4:30, and closing Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. The Special Election will be held May 19, 2020.
